Harvard's Nieman Journalism Lab today lays out the Banyan Project's pilot project efforts in Haverhill, Mass. See http://www.niemanlab.org/2012/07/banyan-project-planning-its-first-community-owned-news-co-op/
And it calls attention to Banyan's Spot.us campaign, which is nearing its end. So please, if you've got a extra bucks in your charitable giving budget and you're inclined to help this project along, now's the time. And if you've already given, please take a couple of minutes to alert like-minded friends by forwarding the Nieman Lab stiory.
Thanks!Posted by Tom Stites on 07/13/12
Thanks to the many donors who've been generous to the Banyan Project through Spot.us, we've raised almost enough money to develop the first phase of Banyan's software.
The donation deadline is only three days away, so now is the time to act : 1) click the Fund This button at http://bit.ly/KMm5x9 if you've yet to donate and 2) take a minute to write an email to like-minded friends telling them that you've donated to support the Banyan vision and urge them to hurry to do so.
Your support is crucial to Banyan and deeply meaningful to me. Thanks to one and all.
P.S. If've not been to Banyan's Spot.us page lately, you might want to click to watch our new video -- Dan Gillmor, Chuck Collins, Bill Densmore and Carol Verny endorse Banyan and say why.Posted by Tom Stites on 07/11/12
