    Serena: Asia Society International Studies Network School, Aveson Charter, is based in Altadena, CA has a groundbreaking Healthy Living/Lunch Program sustained almost entirely by their own organic garden. Students at Aveson not only learn how to garden and cook, they also learn about food systems in a global context, enabling them to grasp the importance of sustainable, local food systems. I know you're looking for a school in Santa Cruz, but if you would like to get in touch with someone at Aveson who might be able to refer you to someone in the Bay Area, feel free to get in touch. What is Spot.us?

Spot.Us is an open source project to pioneer "community powered reporting." Through Spot.Us the public can commission and participate with journalists to do reporting on important and perhaps overlooked topics.
