  • Telling the stories of rural communities-- the food they produce, and how they sustain their families and fellow citizens-- is a phenomenal way to get people thinking about these issues, no matter where they may live. What indigenous practices might these Mayan farmers use that we (environmentalists, good food folk, farmers and food justice crusaders) may have lost, forgotten about not yet encountered? I cannot wait to see the beautiful photos that will undoubtedly come out of Mira's trip and learn how Agros International is assisting farmers work toward ending rural poverty and strengthening the communities that they nourish and support.
