  • You'll have to excuse me, but how will this be any different from the coverage provided through the Star Tribune, City Pages, Pioneer Press, Minnesota Independent, local News, MPR, etc? We don't need more coverage of the race, we need more tools as constituents to keep elected officials on track. How about instead of a reporter, you employ a programmer to make a webtool that will record promises and viewpoints of all the candidate during the campaign and then publicize their level of commitment to those views and promises during their term in office. I won't be paying you to simply flood the airwaves with gossip from June to November. Please innovate.

  • Where most news organizations just put up a soundbite of each candidate, or maybe do a profile of each candidate, The UpTake puts up the full debates and speeches with as many candidates as their small budget and group of dedicated volunteers will allow. This funding will enable them to provide more of this unfiltered coverage, allowing access to the candidates that I couldn't otherwise get.
