Story: Cityhood for East LA?

This piece was produced in partnership with HealthyCal.org and will be published there in coordination with a larger series.

East L. A. is a famous Mexican-American community, but even a lot of people who live there aren't aware that it's an “unincorporated” area, governed remotely by the County Supervisors. The question is if East L.A. is ready to become its own city - directly impacting how the newly formed city could govern itself.

Along the way Patrick Burke produced snippets. We will link to the HealthyCal.org series once it is up.
