  • there are many places of importance in second life: educational, artistic self expression, gathering places of historic value only to the virtual world residents themselves. may it be ip issues as with the battlestar galactica fan content that universal studios had removed or the magnificent nemo islands, built as hommage to jules verne by a dedicated amateur from france who ran out of cash to pay for the land. who is responsible for archiving this content? who should be? maybe we are, the citizens and artists and mothers and fathers, the community who want to preserve what cutting edge thinkers have used these virtual spaces for in these early days of the medium/platform. just like a playground, park, museum or community center in the physical world, these spaces need your consideration...and gone gitmo needs a little cash ;]

  • YouTube has taken down your clip. Is this another case of reprehensible and cowardly censorship, the sort of which is now become commonplace? I'm hoping it's just a glitch though I doubt it. I have sent YouTube a note. Marc Cooper USC Annenberg School

  • hey Marc, I can still see the clip. However has geo-blocked a piece of mine about the history of lynching in the US, only in Germany though...the irony of the digital age...dangerous times!

  • The short version of the Virtual Guantanamo is okay but the longer version, which includes Peggy in the piece is blocked by YouTube.

  • http://gonegitmo.blogspot.com/ which has the updated version, has been blocked by YT, how crazy is that....where is the Stanford content??? ahhhh how free we are in the wonderful world of web 2.o....

  • you would reporting on supporters of the US prison on Cuban soil...

  • Just be transported to this place in second life and I must say you have done a fantastic job. I could feel the depression being locked in the cages and the desperation to get out.
