Thank you for this story - wish you well. Haven't contributed to spot.us for a long time, but am doing so again now I live in different place. Must observe - unemployed Americans do not have anything easy. Perhaps people in Spain have more solidarity - that's the reporting I read. I'm unemployed here in Midwest 2 1/2 years and there is almost zero solidarity for people like me. There are inadequate and demeaning social services. US still stuck in "winners" vs "losers" ideology, despite Occupy movement in major cities. I spent a week in Barcelona 10 years ago with husband - then Catalonians seemed way ahead of US people on connectedness and openness to change - long before the indignado movement. Hope the story gets published!
