About Deborah Stokol

Half Argentinean, half South African, Deborah is an L.A. native who is a working writer, reporter and English/Journalism teacher. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a dual degree in Music and English in 2006 and earned a Masters in Journalism from USC's Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism in 2009. She has written for Los Angeles Times, La Opinion, Los Angeles Magazine, News 21, The Huffington Post, Neon Tommy, Pop + Politics, New America Media, LAist,  L'Atelier, TheWrap, LAist, Our Weekly, WitnessLA, The Berkeley Poetry Review and The News & Observer. Her journalistic interests lie in feature and opinionated writing, and her Web site is deborahstokol.com. 

What is Spot.us?

Spot.Us is an open source project to pioneer "community powered reporting." Through Spot.Us the public can commission and participate with journalists to do reporting on important and perhaps overlooked topics.
