About Eddie North-Hager

After working for daily newspapers for 15 years, I started LeimertParkBeat.com, a news & social network for my neighbohrood, known as the Soul of Los Angeles. There are 500 members who contribute to the website and thousands of readers.

Leimert Park, the Soul of Los Angeles, is the African American cultural center of the city.

At the same time in 2007, I also helped Carlos Miller create his blog, PhotographyisNotaCrime.org, the leading national authority on that area where First Amendment, media and police issues intersect.

In the spring of 2009, I helped launch UniversityParkFamily.com for the residents around the USC and Exposition Park.

In December 2009, as the final project for my master's degree at USC Annenberg my team created EchoParkOnline.com, which serves LA's oldest and hippest neighborhood.

I am looking for partners to create more hyperlocal news and social networking sites across the country.
