Nekessa Opoti is a freelance writer living in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is also the publisher of Kenya Imagine, the largest citizen journalism publication in Kenya. She has reported and continues to report extensively on Somali, Liberian and immigrant issues in the Twin Cities. Opoti works as the Community Outreach Coordinator for e-democracy's Cedar-Riverside neighborhood forum.
