About Latina Lista

Marisa Treviño is the publisher/founder of Latina Lista, a news site for English-speaking Latinos. Drawing on her 17-year award-winning career as a public radio commentator and print journalist, Treviño created Latina Lista in 2004 in response to an underrepresentation of the Latina/o perspective and experience in mainstream media.

Seeking out the stories in Latino communities traditional media deems "not newsworthy," Treviño selects stories for Latina Lista that feature social justice and political issues that impact the well-being of the greater Latino community, partners with regional bilingual newspapers and college journalism departments to highlight stories from local Latino communities and tells the success stories of Latino men and women who are accomplishing their dreams.

In addition, Treviño is an award-winning playwright.

Treviño is based in Dallas, Texas.
