Excellent points. To answer your question directly, yes, the reporters on this project are working for below their usual pay rate, in part because they believe this is an important project. We've been very lucky to attract the talent we've got and are excited about the story package. It's going to be published next week in print — May 11 it hits the news stands in and around San Francisco! We'll be rolling it out online for a number of days after that. Buying the paper at any one of more than 60 retail locations for $1 helps support the journalism we do as well.
Because this is an iterative process and we're still putting the finishing touches on the package, we'd like to excerpt your comment in the paper. May we?
