One in three women in the military report sexual abuse while serving in the military. I'll be interviewing professionals in the field including social workers at the Department of Veterans' Affairs medical center, Military Rape Crisis Center and the Department of Defense.

    • Female Veteran in OKC, OK came into the OKC Medical center ER Room on Suicide attempt with acid levels of aspirin in her system. Department of Veteran Affairs states that she is a veteran but records states that she is not eligible for care because of the discharge given to her by Chain of Command approved by JAG in Balad, from 12 Aviation. Upon discharge patient was informed that Department of Social Services was called on her because of the privilege information given after she left the ICU. It appeared that her husband had abused her but a judge in Oklahoma County turned down the Protective Order she asked for. The Doctor had no comment at that time. She suffered a TBI in Balad medical records show and then within another 5 months she sufferer another TBI from Blunt Force Trauma to the head due to her sexual assault. Due to these MTBI she has seizures activity in the Frontal and Temporal Lobe of the Brain. Due to her healthcare being cut off the EEG Elementary she needs, she is not allowed to have to get care. Service connection has been denied for this MST, Poloytruma Patient of the VA Medical OKC, now for 5 years. So, now that protocol has been broken, this veteran is now homeless, does not qualify for HUD-VASH or other programs within the VA, the DOD, her rapists which still is in the Army resides in the Iowa area and is in the Iowa National Guard has full benefits and overseas other females that he can rape. Is there anything that can be done to help this Combat MST Female Veteran? Please contact legsonthemove@yahoo.com by Christina Thundathil on Thursday, January 6, 2011
